UTSA Extends Offer to Emerging IOL Carsten Campbell
One of California’s most underrated 2027 interior offensive linemen continues his rise as UTSA becomes the latest to offer Bakersfield’s 6’3, 290-pound mauler.
Bakersfield, CA — The Roadrunners continue to invest in the trenches, extending an offer to one of the most physically imposing interior line prospects on the West Coast: Carsten Campbell, a 6’3, 290-pound 2027 OL whose stock has surged throughout the fall.
Campbell announced the offer after a conversation with UTSA Offensive Line Coach Kurt Traylor, who has built a reputation for identifying developmental OL talent early and molding them into all-conference players.
Campbell fits that blueprint perfectly.
On film, he showcases violent hands, a powerful base, and the ability to torque defenders off the spot. His lower-body strength stands out when anchoring versus interior pressure, and his mobility allows him to reach, pull, and climb with real efficiency. Campbell projects as a multi-position interior lineman capable of playing either guard or center at the collegiate level. In 11 years of coaching and training offensive lineman he’s been one of the highest rated and most consistent on film in the entire program, regardless of age.
UTSA has emphasized length, leverage, and toughness in their recent OL recruiting strategy. Campbell checks every box. With his frame, motor, and upward trajectory, he’s a high-upside addition to their 2027 evaluations and a name that is quickly moving onto Power-4 radars.
This offer marks a continuation of Campbell’s breakout, positioning him as a legitimate top national recruit heading into the 2027 cycle.
